Mindfulness approaches, also known as mindfulness-based cognitive therapy or MBCT is a psychological therapy that is designed to prevent depression’s relapses, particularly for those who are suffering from major depressive disorder (MDD). It is a therapeutic approach that is designed to help people who are faced by chronic bouts of unhappiness or depression.
 
MBCT combines meditative practices with attitudes that are based on the mindfulness of situations. MBCT has sessions that are set for a specific number of weeks in order to provide the needed treatment. Sessions are usually set for 6-week to 8-week periods to get the desired results. Studies show that MBCT is quite effective when used in the proper setting and for those who suffer from chronic depression.
